What you can take from Wix and what you cannot
Wix keeps the files behind a Wix site, so there is no download to hand to a new platform.

How Theo moves a Wix website
- Give Theo your Wix address. Theo reads the site, brings the pages, photos and wording across, shows you design options to pick from and has a first preview ready, usually within minutes; ask in chat if you want your old look kept. The first build is free.
- Review it and ask for changes in chat, in plain English; drag in any photo that did not come across.
- Publish. The new site runs on a temporary address while your domain still points at Wix.
- Connect your domain when you are ready by following Theo's steps. If you have no Wix store, leave the domain assigned to the Wix site until the switch: it happens once the registrar's records update, usually within a few hours, and the Wix site stays live until then. If you keep a Wix store, unassign the domain from the Wix site first so checkout moves to the free Wix address, and expect Wix's placeholder page at your domain until the records update.
- Connect Search Console and Analytics. Old addresses that still get traffic are redirected to their new pages, and on Starter and Pro Theo submits the new pages to Google and the growth work switches on.
Your Wix store stays connected
Wix Stores is a direct connection on every Theo plan: products, prices and stock appear on the new site with a cart, and checkout completes on Wix, where orders, payments and inventory stay. After a change in Wix, click Refresh my products; it uses no chat credits.
To leave Wix Stores as well, export the products as a CSV; Theo recommends Shopify for a new store, and the Shopify connection works the same way.
Transferring your domain from Wix
The domain is yours whether you bought it through Wix or elsewhere. Point it at the new site with Theo's steps: both the root and www versions, forwarding and parking turned off at the registrar, email records left alone. Leave it assigned to the Wix site until the switch unless you keep a Wix store; then unassign it first so checkout moves to the free Wix address.
Transferring the registration away from Wix is separate from connecting the domain: a domain registered at Wix connects to Theo like one from any other registrar, so the website moves first and the registration does not have to move at all. What happens to your Google rankings during the move
Redirects carry most of it: an old address that still gets traffic or links sends visitors and Google to the matching new page, with a few weeks of movement while Google recrawls. If the domain name changes too, an extra Search Console step tells Google; see what happens to rankings when you move your website.

What changes after the move
On Wix, the work after launch is yours. On Starter ($69.99 a month, free for the first 30 days) and Pro ($129.99) it is included once the domain and both Google connections are in place: keyword research, new pages and posts, technical and speed fixes, pages submitted through Search Console, and work toward citations in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, none of it using chat credits. What happens to your email
Connecting the domain changes the website records and leaves the email settings alone. If you are unsure how your email is set up, write to team@theo.site before the switch and Theo's team will check it with you.
